Hanoi’s surrounding countryside is filled with traditional handicraft art. There are many local villages specializing in a wide variety of crafts.
 
This tour will provide you a great opportunity to visit three handicraft villages, to meet the local people, to learn about how they have preserved the traditional craft inherited from their ancestors regardless of various changes of time and economic difficulties. Deep tradition continues to the present day in Vietnam's famous handicraft villages, and you will be amazed by the skill of the local artisans.

 

Available Itinerary

Meet 4U Tours guide at your hotel and enjoy a 30-minute drive to the rural outskirts of Hanoi.
 
Stop at the picturesque Ha Thai Village, where generations of families have been engaged in lacquer ware making. The wide range of quality products available is a testament to the skills and dedication of the villagers. 
 
Stroll around the village to admire the craftsmanship and make a stop at a studio.
 
Then continue to Ninh So Village, known as a wood carving village as well as the cradle of rattan and bamboo products, they produce a variety of items - handbags, baskets, lampshades and furniture. You name it, and they have it.
 
Then drive to Nhi Khe where most of the households here are involved in turning wood, horn and bone into practical and beautiful items such as musical instruments, jewelry or ornaments.
 
Return to Hanoi mid-afternoon.

Avoid visiting these villages in the first week of February, June, May and September as most of houses will be closed as people will be working in the rice fields and not many locals will be performing handicrafts. Only a 16-seater van can access to these villages.
